Contractor Membership

IEC PA’s Contractor Members include Pennsylvania’s merit shop and union-free contractors or specialty divisions engaged in the business of lighting, electrical maintenance, alarm systems, sound, security, voice/data/video, low voltage systems, signs, commercial electrical, residential electrical, and or industrial electrical.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is open to any entity not engaged as an electrical and systems contractor, but whose products and services are utilized by the electrical and systems contracting industry.

Membership Requirements and Application Guidelines

To be considered for a membership, all members must agree to be a member in good standing, abide by the provisions of the Bylaws of the Association and the National Association, the Core Values of the Association and subscribe to the goals and objectives of the Association.

All prospective members must submit documentation indicating they have been in business for one year or more.

The Board of Directors investigates and approves or disapproves all membership applications.

Training for Electricians, Staff, and Owners

Our continuing education program is available to everyone in your organization from field employees to owners. Classes may include First Aid/CPR, Aerial Lift, Business Management, VFD Systems, Arc Flash, Awareness and Code Updates, and more!

Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Programs

Our registered apprenticeship program combines 144 hours of classroom training and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training per year. In four years, our graduates complete 576 hours of related technical instruction training and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.

Industry News, Insights, & Communications

IEC National publishes a bi-weekly e-newsletter and a bi-monthly magazine to keep members informed about economic trends, merit shop information, new legislation impacting the electrical contractor industry, and code interpretations.

Networking Events & Meetings

Members are invited to events including our holiday mixer, associate showcase, annual meeting, apprenticeship graduation and awards banquet, apprenticeship skills competition, Back to School BBQ, Fishing Tournament, Golf Outing and more. Our networking events will allow you to connect with like-minded professionals and build valuable relationships.
