What is an Apprentice?

  • Work full-time in the electrical field
  • Are eligible for Veteran’s Education Benefits (maybe hyperlink this)
  • Have a minimum pay-scale for every 1000 hours of work
  • Attend class two nights per week September – April; or online, instructor-led classes
  • Get paid $$$ for your work
  •  0 student debt

The Training You Recieve

  • Is paid for you by your employer
  • Can count towards college credit
  • Are topics directly related yo your full time job
  • Is registered with PA and the US Department of Labor
  • After 4 years qualifies you as experienced, not entry-level!

Steps to apply to the central Pennsylvania chapter IEC apprenticeship program

  • Complete application
  • Submit all required documents and $100 application fee
    •  Documents include – proof of age (driver’s license, birth certificate, and Social Security Card), high school diploma, high school transcripts, 3 letters of reference.
    • If applicable – college transcripts, veteran discharge papers DD214, documentation of electrical work experience, and documentation of any training.
  • Take a math and reading assessment
  • Attend a personal interview
