Why Become a Member of IEC Pennsylvania?

Professional Training for Electricians, Staff, and Owners

Our continuing education program is available to everyone in your organization from field employees to owners. Past classes include First Aid/CPR, Aerial Lift, Business Management, VFD Systems, Arc Flash, Awareness and Code Updates and more!

Registered Apprenticeship program

Our four-year registered apprenticeship program covers residential, commercial and industrial construction and electrical wiring. Our program combines 144 hours of classroom training and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year. We also offer a state registered pre-apprenticeship program for high school students.

Networking Events and Meetings

Members are invited to events throughout the year including our holiday mixer, associate showcase, annual meeting and awards celebration, apprenticeship graduation and awards banquet, and apprenticeship skills competition. Members are also encouraged to attend membership meetings to stay up to date on chapter happenings.

Industry Insights and Communication

IEC National publishes a weekly e-newsletter and a bi-monthly magazine to keep members informed about economic trends, merit shop information, new legislation impacting the electrical contractor industry and code interpretations. IEC PA provides members with quick hitting weekly updates and a monthly newsletter.

Chapter Directory

We encourage businesses and individuals to hire IEC Pennsylvania members. As a member, your name, business, contact information and website will be listed in our chapter directory.

Facility Space

All members have access to our chapter facilities in Mechanicsburg, York, and Pittsburgh if they are in need of a workspace.

Educational Resources

Members can access IEC Pennsylvania’s continuing education programs as well as IEC National’s educational resources, which include trainings, workforce development toolkits, codes and standards resources, safety resources and leadership programs. Members can also take advantage of educational opportunities at national IEC events.
